Sadly the crown of crucis left me with a distinct feeling of disappointment. The location on the edge of the river is marginally idyllic, but they don't do anything with it - just a few typical pub bench-tables scattered on the grass. The room was ok, a little tired, and part of a boring extension that had been made to the pub at some time. The bar, admittedly, full of character - but the restaurant lacked any charisma at all. The staff were pleasant enough, but the whole experience was underwhelming which is a shame because there is so much potential there.
