You'll come for the view but you'll stay for the service. Noted for its panoramic view of the catskills overlooking kingston, sky top's hill is believed to have been a vantage point for the british during their invasion of kingston in 1777. This tourist class property is strategically located only 30 miles southeast of the stewart airport. Sky top was completely renovated in 1985, converting from its former swiss chalet décor, to victorian, for which kingston is renowned. You will enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast that is served as well as the afternoon tea/espresso and dessert trolley. the upstairs rooms of the main manor house are dotted with period antiques and offer a superb second story view of the grounds and valley. The white wooden lawn furniture, handcrafted by the seminole indians in florida, was added during the renovation. Lawn games, old fashioned swings and a beautiful gazebo round out the picture. Throughout the grounds, wild grapes and strawberries abound, reminiscent of the magnificent farm that once graced the site. A courteous staff is available to assist you with all needs. |
