The scandic ålesund is an art nouveau design hotel set in ålesund harbour on its own pier, 500 metres from the shopping centre and museums. This seven floor hotel features 118 bright, modern guestrooms, decorated in a contemporary nordic style with wooden floors. After a fire in 1904 the town was rebuilt in a distinctive art nouveau style and the centre, with its museums and shopping centre is just 500 metres from the hotel. There is also a lively urban scene with restaurants and cafes and the picturesque brosundet canal with its fishing boats. Ålesund vigra airport is 10 kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 15 minutes. |
