expert tip. tenganan, an ancient fortress village built in the 11th century, is enclosed in a stone wall with four gates. Laid out in the symmetrical bali aga style, the village includes stone roads, a number of identical homes, and wandering balinese buffalo. While village residents retain their pre hindu customs and traditional lifestyle, visitors are welcome.
