location. the hyatt regency hakone resort and spa is located in gora, japan, nestled in the resort region of hakone. Gora is known for its famous natural hot springs (onsens). Within one kilometer is gora park. A volcanic crater, owakudani, stands five kilometers from the resort.
hotel features. clustered wooden desks make up the reception area in the hotel lobby, where the centerpiece is a large open fireplace. The dining room, a provincial eatery with an open kitchen, features french and japanese cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The living room lounge showcases a fireplace and an outdoor courtyard. Izumi onsen spa offers eight treatment rooms and two hot spring baths. The thermal water from owakudani is composed of calcium and magnesium to soothe muscle aches and aid in relaxation. expert tip. the easiest way to get to upper gora is the cable car. The cable car serves as a convenient launch point for popular hakone attractions, including owakudani, boat rides on lake ashi and the hakone open air museum.
