Description Top
location. a modern two floor hotel opened in 2004, the hotel gli dei overlooks the bay of naples from its peaceful location amidst the volcanic fields and archaeological sites around the extinct solfatara volcano, 10 kilometres from naples. Naples capodichino airport is nine kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.
hotel features. the outdoor pool is complemented by a panoramic poolside terrace offering splendid views over the bay of naples. Excursions to naples and the campi flegrei (volcanic fields) can be arranged by staff at the 24 hour front desk, and complimentary transfers to and from the airport are also on offer. High speed internet access is available within the hotel, there are business and meeting facilities, and guests arriving by car can enjoy free parking.

the athena restaurant at hotel gli dei is a grand, colonnaded dining room decorated in a contemporary style, opening on to a poolside terrace and overlooking the sea. Specialities include neapolitan cuisine alongside a full italian and international menu. Grill snacks are available from the dionisio bar, a sleek contemporary bar situated near the pool.

guestrooms. the 36 air conditioned guestrooms, situated on two floors accessible by lift, all extend to panoramic balconies and have contemporary decor in shades of blue and terracotta with modern furnishings. Amenities include minibars, satellite television with pay movies, complimentary high speed internet connections, and safes.

expert tip. a day trip to the phlegrean (meaning 'burning', from the greek) fields of the extinct solfatara volcano is quite an experience. Previously considered by the ancients to be an entrance to hell, it is now rather more benign but still noted for its explosions of sulphuric gases, anhydrous carbon vapours and small eruptions of boiling mud.
