| Over 200 years ago, seemingly reddish water was discovered in an iron-mining gallery. After a short time, the healing properties of this water, which contains iron, sulphur and radon, became apparent, and the spring was dedicated to st. Margaret. At about the same time, around 1800, the water was piped into a bath house, which was built in the ancient roman way, by way of bored-through logs. Soon the miners, marked by their hard work, cured their illnesses in this natural healing water. Because of the increasing activity in the bath house, a small inn was built, which has ever since been called ??margarethenbad?. Since the construction of the ??new bath house? in 1955, it has been constantly renovated and extended, so that now, just like then, time-tested natural therapeutic baths are available to relieve rheumatism, sciatic pain and pains in the joints and intervertebral discs. |
